- Your vault data is stored locally on your device.
- Records are encrypted using your PIN; we can’t recover it if you forget it.
- We do not sell your data.
- If you choose to share/export records, you control where they go.
1) Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Cypher (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Data Masking Vault mobile application (the “App”).
2) What information we collect
2.1 Vault content you enter
The App lets you create and store “vault records” (for example: notes, masked data, or other text). By default, this content is stored locally on your device and is encrypted using your PIN.
2.2 Device and app information
Depending on your device and platform, the App (or underlying operating system/app store) may provide basic technical information such as device model, OS version, language, and crash diagnostics. We only use such information to maintain app performance and reliability.
2.3 Files you choose to import/export/share
If you use import/export or sharing features, the App may access files you select using the system file picker and may create files you choose to save. The App only processes those files to complete the action you requested.
3) How we use information
- To provide core functionality: creating, encrypting, displaying, importing, exporting, and sharing vault records.
- To keep the App reliable: debugging, preventing errors, and improving performance.
- To comply with legal obligations (if applicable).
4) Encryption and security
Vault records are encrypted using your PIN. Your PIN is not sent to us. If you forget your PIN, we cannot recover your encrypted data.
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure; however, we use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information stored in the App.
5) Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in these cases:
- When you choose to share/export: you control the destination (e.g., email, drive, messenger).
- Service providers: if we use vendors for crash reporting/analytics (only if enabled), they process limited technical data under contract.
- Legal reasons: if required to comply with law or valid legal process.
6) Analytics and crash reporting
By default, we do not use analytics or crash reporting SDKs. If this changes, we will update this policy and, where required, provide choices/consent.
7) Data retention
Vault data remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the App, or clear the App’s storage. Imported/exported/shared files are controlled by you and the destination service you choose.
8) Your choices and rights
- You can delete vault records in the App at any time.
- You can uninstall the App to remove locally stored app data (subject to your device settings/backups).
- You can contact us to ask questions about this policy.
9) Children’s privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10) International users
If you use the App outside your country, your device and any third-party services you use for sharing/exporting may process data in other jurisdictions under their own policies.
11) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Effective date” above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the App or on our website.
